Diocesan Children’s Ministry Adviser

Note: This position is a fixed term contract to cover Parental Leave and the term of appointment will expire on completion of the term of parental leave or twelve months, whichever comes sooner.

The Anglican Diocese of Christchurch seeks a suitably qualified and experienced person to continue the development of Ministry with and for children and their families. The position is part-time (10 hours per week) and remuneration is based on the current Diocesan pay scale for Youth Workers.

The primary objectives of the position include training those involved in ministry to children in parishes and communities; to advocate for the well-being of children in all communities, to offer resources to enhance their quality of life from the perspective of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to assist parishes to develop child-friendly and safe outreach for the communities they serve.

The Diocesan Youth Adviser is responsible to the Bishop and is a valuable member of the Diocesan Mission Team, working particularly with those involved in ministry to children and young people in the Diocese and further afield.
