The Parish of Avonside, as part of the Diocese of Christchurch in the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia, is commited to the mission of the Church which is: To proclaim the good news of God's Kingdom, to make disciples, to work for justice and peace; and to strive for reconciliation and healing in a broken world. We carry out this mission through the ministry of all the members of this faith community. We are a Eucharistic community which particularly values the following: Communion - we are a serving, inclusive community following Jesus Christ and we gather around the Eucharist as a sign of our commitment to communion with God and one another. People - the spirituality of each person, the ministry and gifts of each person, our ability to welcome people, to have fun together, to plan and try new things together, to risk mistakes and to do things well together. Heritage - we are caretakers of a particular worship and tradition, buildings and history and look to ways to share them with all people in this time and in this place.
