This year the Anglican Care Network is joining with the Anglican Social Justice network as we look towards the General Election. Our Archbishops have invited us to collectively reflect, pray and take action around the issue of Tūrangawaewae.

Hui Amorangi, Dioceses, Rohe, parishes and people across our church are finding ways to engage in this issue which encompasses housing, homelessness, well-being and more. We have not provided specific resources for Social Service Sunday, as set aside in the lectionary. Instead we invite you to use the resources that will be available on the Taonga website from mid August to guide you in the lead up to the General Election. You might use them to shape a Sunday service, a series of worship services, a small group study, a community pre-election meeting, a diocesan week of prayer and fasting. Please be as creative as you wish. Churches through out our Anglican church are particularly invited to focus our attention on this pivotal issue on the week 27 August – 3 September.

Blessings, Rev Tric Malcolm
Wellington City Missioner & Chair of the Anglican Care Network.
