Pray for our Media
July 26, 2020
Sunday 26 July 2020 is the Sunday set aside this year to pray for our media people here in NZ.
Christian Broadcasting Association (CBA) is promoting this event and asks us all to pray for our Media personalities both front line on TV, Press/Web and Radio, and the supporters/enablers of those Media, the reporters, editors and producers of the material.
In a world where getting a story out equates to money in the bank, the energy, integrity and values of our people in the media are tested daily. And while there are a number of Christians in the industry, there are also many who are not.
We can pray for:
- For honest, reliable and accurate journalism and programming. In a world where there are claims, counter-claims and disagreements, we need people of integrity who are committed to truth and fairness
- For Christians working in traditional and non-traditional media alike, who care deeply about what is going wrong in society, that they can make content that shines a light on what’s going on.
- For leadership in newsrooms, production companies and all media workplaces, for people who can change the work culture within the media, and for Christians in all positions to help influence change, to stop the exploitation of younger and particularly female staff.
- For Christians in media to become more influential, and for effective discipleship of young people

A Prayer For Our Times (by Rev Peter Crumpler)
Loving God,
We Pray For Everyone Working In And With Media In These Challenging Times.
Encourage All Who Seek To Explain And Interpret The Fast-Changing World Around Us.
Embolden The Truth-Tellers, Truth-Seekers And Fact-Checkers.
Promote Coverage That Builds Our Shared Humanity And Where Everyone Has A Voice.
Bring Clarity Where There Is Confusion
Bring Knowledge Where There Is Speculation
Bring Wisdom And Insight When The Way Ahead Seems Unclear.
And Bring Us All To A Knowledge Of Truth That Sets Us Free, And Helps Keep Us Safe.
In The Name Of The Father, Son And Holy Spirit. Amen
