Green MP Marama Davidson will be speaking.

She will share her experiences as one of the women from many countries who were on the Women’s Boat to Gaza. It was a small boat. The women were taking no cargo, just themselves. They wanted to to meet with Gazans , to let them know that they were not forgotten. The hardest thing for Gazans to have to endure is the feeling that the entire world is looking the other way.

Marama and the other women were arrested in international waters by the Israeli Navy. They were taken to Israel and jailed.

Marama has said that as an indigenous woman herself , she feel a special empathy with the Palestinians.
