Workshop: What Do I Say? How Do We Care?
August 2 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
(Photo: TVNZ)
A short workshop to equip Churches in responding to those in pain.
This Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care has been made public. This report will highlight some shocking and saddening incidences of abuse towards those most vulnerable in our community. When such reports are made public some people who have experienced abuse can be triggered – both inside and outside of the Church.
We as a Church want to be able to respond to people’s pain with care and compassion. We want to treat people with dignity and enable them to find the resources they need to heal.
This workshop is for clergy, parish employees and those who care pastorally in the Church. It is an intensely practical workshop which aims to assist you in caring for those in need. It welcomes your questions and concerns.
Workshop Facilitator: Ken Clearwater
Please note: Tea/coffee/water will be available. Although this is through the evening meal hour, a meal will not be provided. Cheese and crackers will be available. You are welcome to bring your own food to munch through the workshop.
To assist with hospitality we ask that you and any accompanying you to RSVP via this link.
