The results of the Diocesan-wide Children’s Ministry Survey are now available online.
A total of 86 interviews were completed with clergy and lay leaders, children’s ministry workers and school chaplains in fifty-eight ministry units across eight archdeaconries. The survey covered three key areas of 1) Children and the Church – Typical Sundays, 2) Alternative and All Age Programmes and 3) Community Ministry. Additional questions provided insight into Core Values in Children’s Ministry, Clergy involvement in Children’s Ministry, Staffing & Training, Budget, Celebrations and Challenges.
Appendix A of the report offers a comprehensive list of the children’s ministry resources reported as being used across the diocese. A review of the research by Barbara Neville, entitled ‘How well are we investing in our kids?’ can be found in the most recent AnglicanLife magazine which has the theme ‘Growing the church through children’.
