Message from the Co-Vicars General
To be part of the answer to our prayers for the people of North Canterbury and Kaikoura, the Anglican Diocese is offering a number of opportunities for practical support.
We know that there are immediate needs to be addressed, and many people have been working to that end. Then there are the medium term needs, and the long term needs.
We are hopeful that people will find the following helpful.
We have set up a ‘Give a Little’ page and also supplying a diocesan account number (see below) for donations, to allow people to contribute money that can be given to the people who are in the heart of their affected communities, to empower and encourage them in addressing their recovery needs.
Some people will be wanting to give something practical. We know that the Cathedral and the Archdeaconry of North Canterbury – in consultation with affected North Canterbury townships – are collecting non-perishable items to be sent north. There has also been a suggestion of Care Packs for children.
As you remember those affected by the recent earthquakes in your prayers, we invite you to be part of God’s answer for these people in contributing to our Anglican effort.
