With social and physical distancing restrictions in place, the team had to think outside the square (excuse the pun) when it came to this event.
The team originally planned a large public event, but that’s just not possible right now.
Instead, the Reinstatement team, combined with the Cathedral and the Diocese, will hold an intimate gathering—led by the Dean of the Christ Church Cathedral, Lawrence Kimberley, partnered by Bishop Richard Wallace, Te Waipounamu—as the sun rises over Cathedral Square, symbolising the start of a new day and the start of physical work on the Cathedral. This ceremony will be live streamed via Facebook.
You don’t have to be a member of Facebook to view—the Reinstatement page is public and open to all. Go to Reinstating Christ Church Cathedral New Zealand.
